Dr. Jane S. Lebkowski, Ph.D., has been Scientific Advisor of Asterias Biotherapeutics, Inc. since November 30, 2017. Dr. Lebkowski serves as an Advisor of BEAT BioTherapeutics Corp. Dr. Lebkowski served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Asterias Biotherapeutics, Inc. from 2009 to November 30, 2017. Dr. Lebkowski served as President of Research and Development at Asterias Biotherapeutics, Inc. from March 2013 until June 27, 2017. She served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President of Geron Corporation from May 2011 to December 31, 2011. She served as Chief Scientific Officer of Cell Therapy at Geron Corporation from February 2009 to May 2011 and served as its Senior Vice President of Cell Therapy from January 2004 to May 2011. Dr. Lebkowski served as Senior Vice President of Regenerative Medicine of Geron Corporation since January 2004 and served as its Chief Scientific Officer of Regenerative Medicine since 2009. Dr. Lebkowski served as Vice President of Regenerative Medicine of Geron Corporation from August 1999 to January 2004. From April 1998 to August 1999, Dr. Lebkowski served as a Senior Director of Cell and Gene Therapies at Geron. Dr. Lebkowski served as Vice President of Research and Development at Applied Immune Sciences from 1986 to 1995. In 1995, Applied Immune Sciences was acquired by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, at which time Dr. Lebkowski served as a Vice President of Discovery & Product Development. Dr. Lebkowski holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
Antonietta M. Gatti, Ph.D. is the coordinator of the Italian Institute of Technology's Project of Nanoecotoxicology, called INESE. She is a selected expert of the FAO/WHO for the safety in nanotechnological food, and a Member of the NANOTOX Cluster of the European Commission. She is also the author of a book titled “Nanopathology: the health impact of nanoparticles,” and on the Editorial Board of Journal of Biomaterials Applications and a member of the CPCM of the Italian Ministry of Defense. She also founded a laboratory called Nanodiagnostics for the evaluation of the pathological tissues of patients. She is presently at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Dr. Michel Assad is an accomplished biomaterials scientist with over 20 years of experience in R&D and product development. He oversees all orthopedic, hard and soft musculoskeletal research activities, serves on AccelLAB’s Senior Management Committee (SMC), and is the Vice-Chair of AccelLAB’s IACUC committee. His scientific expertise includes biocompatibility, soft and hard tissue integration, safety, efficacy and performance of various orthopedic biomaterials and biologics. He is an Active Member of the US Orthopedic Research Society (ORS), Society for Biomaterials (SFB), and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR). Dr. Assad is the author of over 120 publications and scientific presentations in the field of biomaterials.

Artemis obtained a BSc in Chemistry (Biochemistry) from the Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MSc in Polymer Science and Technology from UMIST and a PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1997. She then worked in the Department of Materials at Imperial College as a Marie Curie Research Fellow until 2003, when she accepted a position as Lecturer in Nanotechnology in NIBEC, University of Ulster. In 2005, she moved to the University of Birmingham as Birmingham Fellow and since 2012, she is a Senior Lecturer in Biomaterials and Nanomaterials. Artemis’ main research interests are in the microstructural characterisation of materials for biomedical applications as well as in multifunctional materials with emphasis in orthopaedic antimicrobial materials. She has published over 70 research papers in international scientific journals. Artemis has an active research group and has supervised successfully to completion around 55 postgraduate students. Artemis teaches Biomaterials at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has an interest in education research and has completed two projects on Threshold Concepts in Engineering funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Artemis has recently coordinated a 3-year Marie Sklodowska-Curie RISE programme. NEXT-3D was a RISE innovative research staff exchange network that consisted of 4 academic participants and two non-academic participants from Europe and Australia. The research methodology was based on the multidisciplinary and inter-sectorial collaboration among the network participants and focused on three main themes: Materials, Processing and Characterisation to produce multifunctional coatings (devices) for maxillofacial and orthopaedic applications using 3D laser printing and sintering. The network participants acquire expertise in materials science and engineering, chemistry, physics, biology and medicine.
Dr. Farid Menaa is an inter- and multi-disciplinary professional with worldwide reputation. He has three international post-doctoral terms in Oncology, Dermatology, and Hematology; MBA Entrepreneurship and MD candidate. During his ongoing career, he has mainly contributed to the identification and functions of new human disease-causing genes and variants, formulated natural products for anti-aging and developed innovative theranostic strategies against cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity and infectious diseases. He has more than 10 years’ experiences either in the academic, hospitals or industrial sectors. As Chief Scientific Officer and Vice-President R&D at Fluorotronics, Inc. he actively participated in the development of the disruptive “Carbon-Fluorine Spectroscopy”. Dr. Menaa collaborates with various organizations worldwide. He is a member of several prestigious medical and scientific organizations and editorial boards in the field of medicine, science, technology and business, including in the nano-segment. He has authored more than 100 articles including research and review articles, books, book chapters, textbooks, proceedings, and has participated to over 200 scientific international events including as co-organizer, keynote speaker, chairman. Dr. Menaa’s worldwide collaborations, holistic point of view and strong expertise in various fields led him to prevent, implement early diagnosis, and develop efficient and safer therapy.
The main current focuses are related to preventive, personalized, translational, integrative and nanomedicine, especially in the areas of oncology, regenerative medicine and gerontology, in order to prevent and implement early diagnosis and efficient therapy.
Dr. G.Subramanyam who is working as Professor of Cardiology and Director of Narayana Medical College Nellore (INDIA) was earlier Director vice chancellor of SVIMS University Tirupati (A.P) and chairman super specialty courses of Kathmandu University Nepal.
